Liver cirrhosis is not just restricted to heavy drinking or hepatitis sufferers. Non alcoholic Fatty Liver (NAFLD/NASH) is the commonest cause of cirrhosis in people who don’t consume alcohol.Changes in food habits and a lack of exercise is fuelling a time bomb for liver disease as NAFLD or Non-Alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease is becoming more common. The worrying news is that more and more younger people have fatty livers. A 30 percent increase in NAFLD has been measured but young people are dismissive of worries about liver disease believing it to be associated with old age.
